Memorial Day weekend in Cleveland is more than just the unofficial start of summer—it’s a time to pause, reflect, and honor the lives of those who served in our armed forces. While the city comes alive with food festivals, outdoor concerts, and family gatherings, many also take part in ceremonies that mark the true meaning of the day.
Whether you’re planning a weekend full of events or simply heading to a single celebration, getting around the city shouldn’t be the hard part. With Captains Car Service, you can ride in comfort—no circling for parking or navigating crowded lots. Berea’s National Rib Cook-Off and Beer Fest
A Cleveland tradition, Berea’s National Rib Cook-Off and Beer Fest runs May 23–26 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. It’s the ultimate way to kick off the weekend with award-winning barbecue, local craft beers, live music, and family-friendly activities. With large crowds expected, having a professional car service in Cleveland ensures you can focus on the food and fun while leaving the parking and traffic headaches to someone else.
Tremont Greek Festival
Another favorite for locals is the Tremont Greek Festival, happening May 23–26 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. This four-day celebration is filled with authentic Greek dishes, pastries, traditional dancing, and live entertainment. It’s a great reason to gather friends and book a sprinter van or SUV for an easy ride to and from the event, especially since parking in Tremont can fill up fast during holiday weekends.
Annual Memorial Day Celebration at Whitehaven Memorial Park
On May 26, the Annual Memorial Day Celebration at Whitehaven Memorial Park offers a thoughtful opportunity to honor those who served. The ceremony includes a wreath-laying, guest speakers, and military honors. It’s a quieter way to observe the holiday, and booking a private sedan provides a peaceful, stress-free option to attend without having to worry about finding a parking spot.
Reggae Fest Cleveland
If you’re looking for live music with waterfront views, Reggae Fest Cleveland takes over Voinovich Park on May 24–25. With multiple reggae acts, Caribbean food, and lakeside scenery, it’s a laid-back, feel-good event that pairs perfectly with a ride in a sprinter van or coach bus if you’re going with a group. Rideshare waits and parking downtown can get frustrating, so scheduling professional transportation makes a big difference.
Take a Trip to Cedar Point
Of course, no Cleveland Memorial Day weekend list is complete without mentioning Cedar Point. Known as the roller coaster capital of the world, the park reopens its full summer schedule during the holiday weekend. Whether you’re organizing a family trip or a group outing with friends, a coach bus or SUV makes the two-hour round trip simple and convenient.
